CATCH PE is a developmentally appropriate physical education program that reinforces movement skills, sports involvement, physical fitness, social development, skill competency, and cognitive understanding about the importance of lifelong physical activity. CATCH PE instruction is designed to increase motivation and participation in moderateto-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) while emphasizing non-elimination games for K-8 children of all skill levels.
CATCH TRAINING OPTIONS
Implementation Training Attendees (October 9th ONLY)
Attendees will receive training in successfully implementing the CATCH PE program in their schools utilizing the CATCH materials.
Implementation AND Train-the-Trainer Academy Attendees (October 9th-11th ONLY)
In addition to the Implementation Training, 3-day attendees will participate in our “Train the Trainer” offering. Ideal attendees include supervisors and administrators who will be training school PE staff.
It is strongly recommended that attendees to the Open Academies have experience conducting implementation trainings for educational programming and project management experience. While not a prerequisite for attendance, these experiences will greatly increase the probability of successfully directing implementation of the CATCH program.
For over 25 years, The CATCH programs have guided children on how to be healthy for a lifetime and is recognized as the leader in health promotion and childhood obesity prevention programming.
