3. Ramp It Up! MVPA Boosting Strategies for PE

Shana Green, CATCH PE Implementation Trainer, Del Valle ISD

Most PE classes yield less than 50% of class time in MVPA, providing an opportunity to increase physical activity during the school day without sacrificing time for other subjects. Classroom management, transitions, activity selection, and large class sizes can all contribute to periods of inactivity. Learn how you can boost MVPA while still focusing on PE learning standards with easy-to-implement transition, management, and instructional strategies proven to keep kids moving, motivated, and having fun.
