South Orange-Maplewood School District is Featured on the Promising District Practices Website

In an effort to promote effective strategies for improving health issues present in schools, The National School Boards Association has developed the Promising District Practices website. Supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health (CDC/DASH), the site shares successes related to school health policies and practices.

In addition to reading about schools that are building effective health programs, schools also have the opportunity to submit their own stories for review. If selected, their success story is featured on the site, where they can receive increased recognition from other schools and organizations.

We’d like to congratulate the
South Orange-Maplewood School District
and Jefferson Elementary School.
They were the first school district to implement CATCH in the state
of New Jersey and their story has been selected for publication to the
Promising District Practices website!

To read their story, visit the Promising District Practices website and follow these simple steps:
• Scroll down and click on “Coordinated School Health Programs” next to Topics.
• Click on “Elementary school” next to School Level.
• Click on “NJ” next to State.
• Click on the link for South Orange-Maplewood School District to read their complete profile.
