For those working in district or school environments with any combination of grades kindergarten through 8th grade. School-based training covers an overview of the CATCH program and component-specific review of CATCH resource materials with a focus on the CATCH Coordination Kit. Time will be allowed for strategic planning and participants will leave with a clear sense of action items to support program implementation.

CATCH TRAINING OPTIONS

Implementation Training Attendees (June 5th ONLY)

Attendees will receive training in successfully implementing the CATCH program in their schools or organizations utilizing the CATCH materials and curriculum. The implementation training is great if your organization has one or two additional staff members that need training or you work for a very small program and only need a small number of staff trained.

CATCH P.E. Training (June 9th ONLY)

Attendees will receive training in successfully implementing CATCH P.E. in their physical education classes or other school environments. The training will center around the CATCH Activity Box. Participants will learn management and lesson planning techniques to increase the amount of Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA).

The Family Resource Center Association of Denver, this training brought in Program Directors from across Colorado to the high altitude of the Rocky Mountains to launch their CATCH Early Childhood training.

Train-the-Trainer Academy Attendees
(June 5-8th – MUST attend all four days)

The CATCH Coordination Kit (CCK) Open Academy Training is designed for school district faculty or staff- or allied health professionals within the community – who will be responsible for conducting implementation trainings for their district or organization.

The CCK training is comprised of four, fast paced, interactive and substantial days spent acquiring the knowledge of the CATCH program, the philosophy and methods of Implementation trainings and the skills to conduct successful trainings which will lead to successful implementation and sustainability of the CATCH program in their schools.

It is strongly recommended that attendees to the Open Academies have experience conducting implementation trainings for school based educational programming and project management experience.  While not a pre-requisite for attendance, these experiences will greatly increase the probability of successfully directing implementation of the CATCH program.

For over 25 years, The CATCH programs have guided children on how to be healthy for a lifetime and is recognized as the leader in health promotion and childhood obesity prevention programming.
