University of Texas researchers began developing the CATCH program in 1988. Today, the University’s CATCH program office is located within the Dell Center at the University’s School of Public Health.
The Dell Center is led by two of the original investigators who together have over 40 years of experience developing and implementing the program. The center studies, supports and oversees the CATCH Program, and has a total of 28 staff and 21 contributing faculty who are instrumental in all aspects of developing, training and disseminating CATCH.
The University of Texas research teams in Houston and Austin continue to review, evaluate and develop components of CATCH to improve its delivery and sustainability as an effective health promotion program. No stone goes unturned, from program content development and training protocols, to delivery methods and assessment tools.
